New Jersey Revenues Top $20 million But Critics Says Its Still Not Enough
Gross gaming revenues for the month of June have been released for the state of New Jersey. Revenues topped $20 million, but it’s not good enough especially for the poker market. Online poker just isn’t doing well. Expectations have fallen short with June being one of the worse months since it launched in November 2013. Online poker generated $1.74 million. Its best month was June 2015 when they generated $1.84 million. This was before PokerStars entered the market.
Casino revenues generated $20 million. Online casino activities were up about 30% compared to last year, even though it still fell a little flat. Golden Nugget kept their reigns holding the number one spot like they do every month. The casino resort generated more than $5.5 million which accounts for more than a quarter of the market. They led first place by not much though! Borgata was running a close race at second place with its $3.9 million in revenues.
Overall, casino revenues made up for the absence of online poker. Another month, another downfall, but with the final numbers tallied up the state was up about 23% for the month of June.
