Microgaming Requesting Website Owners to Relinquish Domains

January 19, 2012 · Filed Under Microgaming, Online Gambling News

It seems some domain owners are hot under the collar as they received letter/semails from Microgaming lawyers to hand over domain names with the Microgaming name included.

Below is and example letter that you may receive if you own and operate a domain name with the Microgaming brand included.

I assume you are the registrant of the domain name ‘microgamingxx.com’.
Please rest assured that you are not the only registrant that we have contacted as part of our client’s brand protection activities, which are wide ranging.
In order to achieve a speedy resolution of this matter, please kindly:
· Provide us with the authorisation code and confirmation that the domain name has been unlocked, so that my client may transfer the domain name to its name; and
· Sign, date and return to us the undertakings enclosed with our letter.
I look forward to hearing from you and your earliest convenience.

Yours sincerely,

Online Gaming Domain Sold for Staggering Sum

July 22, 2010 · Filed Under Online Gambling News

online gambling domain namesNews broke that the online gambling domain www.onlinecasino.dk has been sold to an unidentified buyer for the staggering sum of $580,000. The sale took place on July 19th and it has now been officially announced by Business Wire.

The sum for what the domain was sold locates it in the 10 percent most expensive gambling url’s. The buyer remains anonymous and it has only been identified that it is an online gaming company based in Malta.

The new owner plans to develop the site more before launching it to the public. In the past the website has been known for being a Danish online gambling casino guide and information portal.

The website also has reported about 3,512,704 visitors a month and it is said to be the top generic domain name in the Nordic countries. Some say that the high price that was paid could have been influenced by the decision of the Danish Government to liberalize the national online gaming market.

Earlier this year Bodog Antigua bought the domain slots.com for an even more impressive sum of $5.85 million. This was the largest amount of money paid for a domain this year and it was also amongst the top 10 fees ever paid for a domain.
