Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, Doesnt Believe ‘Gambling is Good‘, Working Towards Banning Entries of Local Casinos
The Goa government is doing everything they can to ban the entry of locals in casinos. State government officials are also trying to relocate offshore casino boats from River Mandovi. Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar strongly believes that any type of gambling is not good. He said the casinos will not be shut down immediately, but will soon happen in due time since many companies have invested.
“If we can we should remove it from the state. It is human nature to gamble that is why we cannot eradicate it completely, but definitely we cannot encourage it,” said Parrikar. “That is why we had decided on a policy to ban Goans from going to casinos. Lot has been done about it and in the days to come there will be complete ban on locals going to casinos.”
It is unsure when the ban will start, a definite date hasn’t been set. Different countries and regions have strict regulations with any sort of gambling and Goa is one of those places. Parrikar also addressed different budget solutions that were released. He ruled out that the state will suffer from any loss of financial crisis from the ban.
