In a rather quick heads up match, Schneider was able to beat out Ahmed in a field that topped 862 runners. He then moved on to win against former WSOP gold bracelet winner Benjamin Scholl.

Schneider’s previous wins also took place in the summer of 2007 when the native of Indianapolis, Indiana won bracelets in 2007, the year he took home the crown as WSOP Player of the Year.

In an interview with PokerNews, Schneider was visibly tired from a long day of poker but was ecstatic about his win, he spoke with Lynn Gilmartin saying that the competition was “tough, and there were great players and he had got real lucky.”  Poker professional and friend Mike Matusow thought differently as he shared with everyone how he felt about Schneider’s win,

“Tom Schneider is my f***ing hero!” was the yell from behind the media table. When we turned around, it was none other than Mike “The Motuh” Matusow coming to sweat his friend. “I love his wife more, though,” joked Matusow.

When asked if he would compete in the 50K  H.O.R.S.E event, Schneider was not sure if he was going to compete but was sure that there would be more poker for him as he stated, “When the world Series is going on, there is no rest for the weary.”
