gala coral playtechJust a short while ago William Hill and Playtech were in dispute, with regards to an agreement Playtech wished to enter into with a rival, massive land gambling operator in the UK. We are not naming names. William Hill cited a conflict of interest and Playtech out of good nature moved on after agreeing to new terms with Will Hill; to see if they could interest Gala Coral in a similar deal. They must have all the right stuff, because Gala and Playtech have now entered into a multi-year agreement to provide their technology platforms for the entire Gala online product range.

Gala Bingo came along as part of the agreement and they will soon migrate to the online bingo software platform and network owned by Playtech. This is Virtue Fusion, so all you Gala Bingo fans; you may see some serious changes at this site before too long. Don’t worry too much; we don’t expect any big changes to take place before the first half of 2012.

The most dynamic product is a new sports betting mobile platform, and for this Playtech went shopping and picked up Sweden’s, Mobenga Mobile for a cool €23.8 million! Gala has already established a strong working relationship with Playtech – they are a licensee as they operate 6,500 gaming terminals which use Videobet software from the Playtech GTS platform.

Mor Weizer – head of Playtech could not be more delighted with the deal as it presents significant opportunities for both companies.

As well as bingo, Gala online products include casino, sports betting, live casino games, poker and a presence in Europe through the Eurobet brand – licensed and regulated in the newly regulated Italian market. They are a substantial land gambling operator too, with over 2,000 betting shops dotted around the UK, together with 27 casinos and 142 bingo clubs.
