australian deaf pokerLast year the Australian Deaf Poker Championship was a great success and it attracted 88 poker enthusiasts. The tournament is dedicated to the deaf and as everyone was extremely contempt with the results in 2009, the organizers have set another appointment for October 8th and 9th of 2010 in Melbourne, Australia.

The event will be held at Local Hotel in Port Melbourne and the organizers have stated they expect the participation of 100 poker players who suffer from deafness. The tournament will be organized in conjunction with a company in the poker industry and they will bring competitors a deep stack tournament for the first time.

Also, to give the event a more official sense this time, they have added dealers to every table so that players can experience the sense of a real exciting tournament.

The players at this event communicate using Auslan signs (Australian Sign Language) and the action will start with the Welcome Night in which the participants will learn the basics of poker in case they are unfamiliar with them.

Then, on October 9th, the real action will begin and players will have to pay a $30 buy-in if they want to participate. They will receive 20,000 chips to begin with and play until they find a champion.
