China cracking down on online gambling
Concerns out of Beijing that too much online gambling money is leaving the country has started a 6 month crackdown on the industry news reports are saying.
Gambling in China has been illegal for over 60 years in the communist country but that hasn’t deterred a thriving underground gambling industry.
The government is not only targeting the online gambling companies but also internet service providers and the ewallets that provide the platform for transferring funds between parties.
The campaign to crackdown on online gambling is just another step towards China’s censorship of the internet. Last year thousands were arrested as a result of an internet pornography crackdown in the communist country.
